Singer/songwriter with focus on inspirational music; 3rd cousin to the famous Al Jolson; performed with late great jazz grammy winner Blue Mitchell; with the late world-famous vibes player Lionel Hampton; records for gospel children's hour "The Puppet Factory" and performs in churches, synagogues, and in concerts. Strong jazz voice.
I've set up this web sight in an attempt to make myself and my artwork more availible to the public. For along time I sold prints of my work all over the country, each one personally by hand. The web offers a much more convenient and extensive communication base for me to reach people. The websight consists of images I've created throughout the past ten years. I have also included some music that I wrote recently. I also play the guitar and write.
The Brian McGee Band plays traditional and contemporary roots music influenced by, the tunes and stories that have come out of the soil of North Carolina, and by the urban beat of rock and roll. Brian McGee writes songs that have been dusted by the weird old american songbag. With the help of David Hughes(slide guitar & banjo), Darin Gentry(fiddle) and Mary Dellea(bass) the band has taken Brian's originals to a place somewhat familiar, but new and up to date. The band also plays fiddle tunes of NC & WV, piedmont blues, gospel, ballads, and waltzes.

My name is Jon Fess, born in Akron, Ohio. I moved to Florida to play professionally. I have received the opportunity to be a part of many musical styles, ranging from jazz and rock, to swing and gospel.
