The Drum God's is an eclectic percussion and dance ensemble featuring rhythms from West Africa, Middle Eastern and Texas complete with costume and parade dragons interacting with audience participation. We create energy and fun wherever we go, turning spectators into performers.
Magda is a perfromer, teacher and imported of fine Turkish costumes and all items belly dance. She also offers velvet evening wear, beaded handbags, and jewelry.
Mizilca offers "Transformational Bellydance" experiences: performances, classes, workshops, ceremonies & rituals, poetic dance journeys, articles, and dance costuming. She draws upon Goddess mythos of ancient cultures, yogic practices and energy work to evoke sacred and scintilating sensations for all watching or participating! A multipercussionist, composer, and educator, River's music has evolved using knowledge and indigenous instruments gathered from research and from travels around the planet. He conducts rhythm and sound exploration workshops throughout the country. Guerguerian enjoys sharing the deep, creative, and rhythmic space from which sound originates.

Singer-songwriter/music healer Sandi Kimmel writes songs to uplift, inspire and heal. Her two CDs, "Transitions"and "Music In My Soul" are popular around the world, bringing her loving, healing energy to all four corners of the earth. She takes her healing concert, "Spirit, Story & Song," into hospitals and other healthcare settings, as well has using her healing music bedside with individual hospice patients. She's been called "an angelic chronicler of the inner journey," and her songs are "nursery rhymes for the soul." Her many popular programs, lectures with music, uplift and inspire a wide variety of audiences.
Our first CD, "the split tree recordings: the waltzes" was recorded, designed and produced in 1999-2000 by one of Split Tree's founding artists, composer/guitarist/vocalist Walter Parks of New York City. He recorded most pieces live, some improvised, with dancers dancing in the STF studio. "Lovely music," says Prof. Richard Powers of Stanford University's dance division. A renowned social dance historian and teacher, Powers provided strong leadership and encouragement that starting in 1996 first made Split Tree's ambience and fine floor known nationwide for his popular waltz balls, workshops and other dance weekends.
Turiya began studying Jazz at 15 years of age. She was Originally mentored by San Diego Jazz legend Daniel Jackson, Mareya followed his example by becoming proficient on both piano and reeds and focusing on playing her original compositions. She continued her work in New York, studying at the Creative School of Music. Later she toured Mexico with the Taumbu International Ensemble. All of those experiences help mold her unique approach based on World Music influences and drawing on the trance inducing and spirit calling focus of African and Indigenous approaches to music. She honed her abilities in Latin Jazz heading the Kokopelli Latin Jazz Ensemble where she had the privilege to work with drummer Skip Howlet known for his work with Mongo Santamaria and Tito Puente, as well as Cuban Bassist Ignacio Arango. For 6 years the group held a Sunday nightspot at Croce's Jazz Bar in San Diego and performed at Jazz Festivals opening for artists such as Arturo Sandoval, David Murray, Eddie Palmieri, Poncho Sanchez and Jane Bunnet. She has performed at Venues and Festivals in Madrid, Havana, Toronoto, Vacouver, Juneau, Vera Cruz, Mexico City, Tijuana and San Diego.
