ALACE stands for the Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators. We train labor assistants/birth doulas, offer a childbirth education certification home-study program and provide referrals to doulas and childbirth educators across the country. We also have a mail order bookstore that contains titles on women's health, pregnancy and childbirth, and other related topics. ALACE's mission is to empower women to trust in their bodies to safely and dependably give birth.
Alaska Birthing is a midwifery and homebirth service with an office in Eagle River but serving the Anchorage to Mat-Su valley area. Susan Terwilliger, owner and licenced midwife of Alaska Birthing, offers complete and professional care throughout the prenatal, delivery, and postpartum time of childbirth. Homebirth is a wonderful option for the healthy woman who wants to give birth without unnecessary interventions in an environment of support and safety.

Joanne Dozor, RN, CPM, has been a midwife and childbirth educator for 30 years. In 1998 she began The Art of Midwifery which offers a variety of courses for doulas and aspiring midwives. The philosophy of the school is based on a belief that birth belongs to the birthing woman, and that she deserves to birth in the place where she feels safe, comfortable and supported. Because individuality and self-expression is encouraged, students are exposed to a variety of teachers with different approaches to midwifery care. Joanne also teaches yoga to both adults and children.

I am a traditional midwife..I like that title. My nitch is the Home Birth setting. I believe that I am supporting a tradition of women and their abilities to birth. Traditions that are empowering, centering and social. Traditions that are becoming lost. My children were both born at home. As they walk away to form their own lives, I'm reminded of the importance of choices and support.
I am a licensed midwife an have been practicing in the Southern California area. I have a medical degree from India but have chosen to practice midwifery instead because I believe that birth is a very natural process that most often does not require intervention but rather a very watchful eye. Having been trained in medicine I am very comfortable and calm should emergencies occur and I am very confident with suturing if needed. I limit my practice to two or three new patients a month so that I can be available to them and give them the best care.
We are Humm Berreyesa and Siedar Andre. Humm has over 30 years experience and Siedar has over 20 years experience with birth. We offer emotional, physical and informational support to the birthing parents.
I am a alternative nurse midwife, serving North Al and Southern TN. I have a nice facility available on my property at the AL/TN stateline (just off 231/431) for those in AL. My practice is preventative, holistic, supportive, and I have local MD's available should the need for advice, collaboration, or intervention arise. I am experienced in hypnobirth, waterbirth, and provide breastfeeding support, use herbs and homeopathy, have some experience with applied kineisiology. 
I provide excellent prenatal, labor and delivery, newborn, and postpartum care to women chosing to birth at home.

I have ben a Lic Midwife in SC since 1986. I have a course (Midwife To Be )that is SC DHEC aproved. Its 30 units with 2 tests per unit. Each unit takes apx 1 mo. Cost is $25 per unit. see web site for more info. Its a pay as you go course. Also join our Midwife To Be Yahoo group if enrolled.
