Indian Head Massage, also known as Indian Champissage, originated from Ayurveda, an ancient system of medicine which has been practiced in India for over 1,000 years. It is a form of massage that focuses on the face, head, neck, shoulders and upper arms which are important energy centers within the body where tension accumulates resulting in neck and shoulder pain and headaches. A firm and gentle rhythm is used to release blockages and relieve tension and pain. This form of massage is very relaxing and has a balancing effect on the recipient as it helps them to release on all levels: physical, emotional and psychological. It has the ability to create a sense of peace and well-being.
Indian Head Massage is relatively new to Canada but is hugely popular in India and England. It is quickly becoming popular around the world for its ability to help with some of the conditions we suffer from every day and for its OH SO relaxing techniques!
