Bharati
About Bharati Corinna Glanert

I have been interested in Spirituality since I was a child. Over the years, I have devoted my life more and more to finding out about the cosmic laws of healing and awakening. My journey first brought me to Reiki, where I became a certified teacher and practitioner.

Next, I studied with Dr. Edward Bach and learned his practice of Flowertherapy.

After that, I learned different healing techniques from the Phillipines - which are connected deeply to angels and divine knowledge.

Now and since 2001, I have studied and continue to study with Sri Kaleshwar Swami in South India. Sri Kaleshwar is a powerful master healer on this planet.

Most of the year, I study, meditate, and live in India. During the other part of the year, I travel around the world to teach and share the powerful healing techniques and knowledge that I have learned from Sri Kaleshwar.

In my workshops and seminars, I guide the participants to profound meditation experiences -- for self-healing and healing others -- and I demonstrate many practical spiritual principles, like de-charging negativity back into the Nature, and the knowledge of the Five Elements, the building blocks of creation. The Five Elements process involves charging yourself with the vibrations of earth, water, fire, sky and air -- and then commanding on those elements to restore health, vitality, balance, emotional well-being and spiritual awakening. The Five Elements purification process is the beginning of a deep adventure into healing channels, profound meditations, and an enlivened soul relationship with Nature.

For more information on Sri Kalshwar and his teachings, you can go to his webpage www.kaleshwar.org

Jack of the Wood
Welcome to Jack of the Wood, a cozy, Celtic style pub located in downtown Asheville, North Carolina. Handcrafted English style ales are brewed at our nearby brewing facility and served fresh daily. On a typical evening at Jack's you will find many of the patrons gathered around the black walnut bar or at long tavern tables, engaged in conversation through which the taboo subjects of art, religion and politics are heavily woven. Others play darts or scan the papers while sipping pints of ale or munching on a plate of fish and chips.

When the local musicians are fiddling away on Irish reels or picking some olde time mountain music in the corner with the wooden shutters closed against the night, you can blink your eyes and imagine yourself in the Celtic Isles or Colonial America. The small but varied menu will keep your hunger pangs at bay with its simple traditional favorites and daily special. A wonderful bunch of locals consider Jack their local pub, but are not opposed to sharing. Oh, by the way, we have a very nice selection of single malts. So drop by and say "hi", and remember, bring plenty of conversation

The Grey Eagle
The Grey Eagle is a listening room-style concert venue, not a bar or nightclub. While many artists who regularly perform here have dedicated followings, we cannot offer potential performers a built-in crowd. Likewise, while we love to discover new music and help artists begin their careers, we cannot host performers who are unknown to Asheville audiences. Like many listening rooms around the US, The Grey Eagle is a destination location: an artist must already have some “marquee value” in the Asheville area in order to perform here. If you are (or represent) an artist who is relatively unknown in Western North Carolina there are many other options for you, and a quick search on the web should give you a host of possibilities.

The Handlebar
Since opening in September 1994, The Handlebar: A Listening Room has become the premier concert venue in The Upstate — some would say in the entire Southeast — for entertainers and music lovers alike, people seeking excellent artistry, musical diversity, renowned acoustics and intimacy.

The Handlebar, at 304 East Stone Avenue — three blocks off Main Street near Downtown Greenville between Main Street and Interstate 385 — has presented more than 2,000 concerts featuring a vast array of musicians, from the legendary to the unknown. Many performers have been Grammy Award winners, others have been popular local and regional favorites. The Handlebar specializes in presenting a wide variety of musical genres — from rock ‘n’ roll to blues; from Cajun to reggae; from folk to bluegrass; from jazz to world beat; from alternative to hip hop; from metal to pop. Many musicians featured at The Handlebar had never performed in Greenville before.

The Lobster Trap
The Lobster Trap is a locally owned restaurant dedicated to offering fresh seafood to residents and visitors of Asheville, NC. Captain Tom sends us lobsters in the morning right off his boat in Portland, ME. Our trout comes fresh from the Shining Rock Wilderness area of Pisgah National Forest.

My name is Amy Beard and I am the founder of The Lobster Trap. I grew up working on the docks of Portland, Maine with Captain Tom. In the morning I would steam and shuck lobsters for the local restaurants. In the afternoon I hauled in the daily catch from the lobster fishermen.

I developed a passion for the sweet taste of Maine lobster and respect for the locally regulated industry.

The Orange Peel
The History of The Orange Peel

The building on the corner of Biltmore and Hilliard Avenue holds many fond memories for the people of Asheville. From 1950 to 1962, Skateland Rollerdome was the place to be on Saturday night and hosted many birthday parties for children of Asheville. The downtown skating rink proved to be the perfect place for kids to have fun while moms and dads shopped in the department stores that once dominated the downtown landscape. Later, the building housed a series of R & B and soul clubs. Coincidentally, most of those clubs had colors in their names: jade, emerald, and orange. The Orange Peel was the best known of these establishments and had a reputation throughout Western North Carolina as the hottest nightclub around. Artists such as The Commodores and The Bar-Kays appeared on the carpeted, three-tiered stage, and when live music was not available, recorded disco and funk blared from the elevated DJ booth, which featured DJs from one of the few black owned radio stations in the country, WBMU-FM. The Orange Peel was the last club to occupy the location before it became vacant for many years. After a stint as an auto parts warehouse, The Orange Peel was reborn, thanks to Julian Price’s downtown redevelopment company, Public Interest Projects.

Over the last three years, The Orange Peel Social Aid and Pleasure Club has become recognized as one of the best live music venues in the nation. Featured and highlighted in USA Today, Travel and Leisure Magazine, Southern Living Magazine, Turner South Cable Network, Rolling Stones Magazine, and in a number of regional and national newspapers and magazines, the club is known for presenting up and coming new talent as well as showcasing legendary performers. Everyone from Bob Dylan to Ziggy Marley and from Ween to Wilco have performed to sold-out houses at The Orange Peel.

In New Orleans, “Social Aid and Pleasure Club” describes organizations that provide care, comfort, entertainment and support to its membership. The Orange Peel has a mission to do all of that and more for the community of Western North Carolina. By hosting a number of benefits, galas, birthday parties, weddings, and even memorial services, 101 Biltmore Avenue has once again become a well-known address in Asheville. Ironically, The Orange Peel of the 1970’s billed itself as “The Original Orange Peel,” perhaps imagining a future for “The New and Improved Orange Peel".
