Welcome to Jack of the Wood, a cozy, Celtic style pub located in downtown Asheville, North Carolina. Handcrafted English style ales are brewed at our nearby brewing facility and served fresh daily. On a typical evening at Jack's you will find many of the patrons gathered around the black walnut bar or at long tavern tables, engaged in conversation through which the taboo subjects of art, religion and politics are heavily woven. Others play darts or scan the papers while sipping pints of ale or munching on a plate of fish and chips.
When the local musicians are fiddling away on Irish reels or picking some olde time mountain music in the corner with the wooden shutters closed against the night, you can blink your eyes and imagine yourself in the Celtic Isles or Colonial America. The small but varied menu will keep your hunger pangs at bay with its simple traditional favorites and daily special. A wonderful bunch of locals consider Jack their local pub, but are not opposed to sharing. Oh, by the way, we have a very nice selection of single malts. Glass of Class is our new project together we bring quality music to the Houston Bay Area and the city. We prefer to perform in smoke free environments. Private parties are preferred, and we know there are small clubs where smoke in not allowed. The music styles are classy stadards, Nora Jones, Katy Malua, John Lennon, some cabaret tunes, and for weddings we provide church support and DJ music for the reception but can also bring in a full ensemble if this is the couples requirement.
