I offer holistic midwifery services in my client’s homes. I travel to my clients for their convenience to give prenatal and postpartum care. My practice encompasses the midwives model of care from citizens for midwifery, www.cfmidwifery.org. I offer free initial visits to discuss maternity care and birthing options. In my practice I offer water birth, massage, counseling, lactation consulting, vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) and postpartum care for six weeks. 
I am a Certified Nurse-Midwife. After being a direct-entry midwife and RN since 1985, I decided about 7 yrs. ago to go on for the Nurse-Midwifery degree. I have been working in the childbearing field in some capacity since 1980. I am also, available to teach skills classes to midwifery students. I participate in homebirth meet-up/support groups and peer review among/with other homebirth nurse-midwives in NC.

I provide labor support to families giving birth. My services start prenatally and I provide 2 visits before baby's arrival to discuss birth topics, provide requested information, help with the birth plan and generally support the family. I attend the birth and never leave the family alone unless asked to do so. I provide 2 postpartum visits that include breastfeeding help, screening for postpartum depression and baby care.
