I specialize in counseling with individuals and couples dealing with relationship, sexual,body image, and pain management issues. After an initial joint intake session (for couples) and in-depth private history sessions (for individuals and couples), future sessions often involve face to face counseling plus body psychotherapy. This method combines face to face talk therapy with the use of gentle touch therapy to encourage newfound awareness of bodily tension patterns and how these may be connected to important relationship, sexual and other life issues. By focusing on our bodies and our life issues, both present and past, we discover what has been interfering with our enjoyment and satisfaction. As our body begins to relax, our fears and insecurities gradually dissolve and we are able to make choices based upon what we truly want. While I was a design/Mfg. engineer for Sony/Pioneer in Taiwan and in Japan for 7 years,I started learning the arts of massage/bodywork as a hobby and for personal growth. When I was in Seoul Korea for 8 months during the 1988 Olympics for my archery events, I studied Korean style acupressure (shiatsu). Next, I went to Beijing China for 2 years. I studied at The Traditional School of Chinese Medicine Beijing. Under the teachings of Dr. Yun who is now a 105 yrs.this year 2008. He is a mentor and teacher. I studied herbs and acupuncture at this school. I perform Swedish, Sports Massage (Deep Tissue), Reflexology, Cranial-Sacral, Tuina, Shiatsu, Thai Massage, Lomi Lomi, Zhou Lin Style Body Work, Energy work, cranial-sacral therapy, and new is my infrasonic Chas chi machine.
