Blessings for 2009 -Year of High Alert

The year 2009 will be a momentous one. It is a year in which we must be on constant high alert. We must be in the witness state, beyond the pull of identification with the ego, in order to withstand the force of projections from others, and those arising from within. The negative energies will be stronger than ever, but the power of the Divine Presence is with us more palpably than ever as well. We must take the support of the Presence, through full interior surrender of the mind and heart to the Supreme Being. Through this act of sacrificing the ego, we shall become free of the plagues of desire and fear, and shall come to live in transcendent peace. We shall be able to transmit the gifts of serenity and contentment, pure love and wisdom, to offer to all who seek spiritual support and guidance. Let these be the gifts we deliver not only on Christmas day, but every day of the coming year.
This will be a year filled with shocks. There will be catastrophic events as well as signs and wonders that burst the old paradigm of egoic reality. There will be radical shifts of fortune for many. Old karmic bills are coming due. The death of this world age is approaching, the current dominant consciousness is reaching its terminal phase, and the birth of the new age, and the next level of higher consciousness, is appearing on schedule.
Our task is to remain unshakeable in our faith and our inner stillness. To accomplish this, we must make deep meditative practice our highest priority. Early morning silent meditation is essential every day, and midday and evening sittings should be added to our schedule when possible, so that the mind remains continuously in the avyakta state, in the transcendent locus of the Absolute.
It is of profound importance to enter fully into a loving and disciplined spiritual community, one that offers wisdom, virtue, and a powerful healing energy field. Such communities must develop this year the collective will and capacity to create sustainable communal living arrangements to endure the trials of the transitional period before the establishment of the new planetary age. These projects must be undertaken in a completely sacred manner—not as business enterprises or mundane eco-villages, but as ashrams and monastic cocoons for our ultimate metamorphosis into angelic beings of light!
Most important, we must each complete our inner work of self-purification, so that there are no impediments to the cultivation of the luminous Godseed. Let us come to live every moment in love, in joy, and in virtue, in the recognition of our Supreme Beingness.
The time for egocentric concerns has passed. We must give our all to the service of God, the building of a unified divine culture, and the restoration of the natural world.
Light-workers of our sacred Earth: let us unite! Through our synergy, miracles can be accomplished.
Let this be the year of passing the spiritual tipping point, in which the power of Truth overthrows the reign of the false ego. There is no power greater than Love. May we be Love’s channels, Love’s radiance, and Love’s incorruptible embodiments!
In this year, we have the ability to turn the course of history in a new direction. May we be up to this momentous challenge! God is with us.
