The Gift - An Animal Communicator's Storyby Cindy Westen Animal Communicator And Intuitive Healer I am an animal communicator, which means I talk with animals telepathically - like Dr. Doolittle. Intuitive healing is another ability I have. It allows me to heal animals by working with Spirit. Amazing things have happened in my life because of these gifts and I'd like to share one with you. It's about a hummingbird I call "The Gift". I have two dogs and I was on my ritual doggie-duty cleanup. I walked down our side yard and for some reason was drawn to check where my dogs usually never go. Sure enough there was something. I leaned down with scooped in hand when I realized it didn't look normal. I bent lower when I saw some iridescent color. It was a hummingbird all curled up and covered in ants. Such a pity to leave such a beautiful bird dead there. I decided to bury him. I went to pick him up and he moved! But ever so slightly. I held him in my palm. His feathers were out of place and his body was in a tight ball. Even his toes and his eyes were shut tight. I poured water around him getting off all the ants. I petted his little head and back while talking to him and through my tears remembered - do healing touch! I prayed to the angels to come help heal his little body. As I diligently sat holding him in my hand sending him healing light, it was quite some time before the little bird moved just a bit and let out one little chirp. A good sign! A little later he tried flapping his wings but they just went up and down awkwardly and slowly so I continued working with him and calling to the angels. After awhile his eyes finally opened a slit so I carried him over to the feeder and held him to it. He drank and drank resting in my palm with his eyes closed. So little and so beautiful he was. After a long time, he opened his eyes a bit, crawled with difficulty from my palm and held himself up to drink. With eyes almost shut, he was unsteady and shaking. I held my hands underneath him just in case. We were both there awhile only inches apart from one another. So many hummingbirds were flying all around us and chirping. Some swooshing lightly through my hair. One landing briefly on my head for a moment watching. My little guy chirped occasionally to the others sending them aflutter with responding chirps. Suddenly, he relaxed from drinking and no longer shook. He smoothed out his feathers by lifting them up and down and then opened his eyes. They were so clear and so bright now! He stared into my eyes for minutes while just sitting on the feeder next to me. He was inches from my face. He gave me one last look, his wings flapped making that blessed hum and off he flew! The experience took my breath away. Almost surreal. It is still hard to believe, but Išll always remember how his little body felt in my hand, how we looked into each otheršs eyes and what we experienced together. I talked telepathically with him later. I asked if I could call him "The Gift". He said yes, and he would call me "Golden Angel with 2 Dogs". What a blessing God and that little bird gave to me that day - when all I thought I would be doing is doggie-clean up. I've learned to look for miracles in even the smallest of things.
