Uncovering the Secrets of Ancient Egyptian Temple & Tomb Art

An Interview with Sue & Aaron Singleton

What is Ancient Egyptian Temple and Tomb Art, and what prompted you to study it?

During our first and second trips to Egypt, we began to question the hand, head and body positions of the statues, and in temple and tomb art. As we intently studied various papyruses and wall reliefs, we questioned Egyptologists. They often replied that there is no special meaning, or provided answers that didn’t go deep enough for us.

By our third journey to Egypt we began testing and experimenting by putting ourselves into the hand/body positions we saw, and were absolutely amazed at what we felt! These intense, first-hand experiences have led us to uncover what we believe are previously-undiscovered secrets in the temple art of Ancient Egypt. While some of our students have referred to it as ‘Egyptian Reiki’, we refer to it as a major component of our own The Energy Of Life® (EOL™) Integrative Healing Process that applies ancient Egyptian energies, knowledge and intuition combined with cutting edge science to promote physical and emotional healing of a person’s ‘dis-ease’.

Throughout our research, and for our training workshops, we’ve photographed several of the original intricate artworks from Abydos, Edfu Temple of Horus, Medinet Habu Temple, and more. Since some locations do not permit photography in order to preserve what remains of original paints and pigments, we’ve actually sketched many of the hand, head and body positions. We later recreated them by posing in the positions ourselves. Once we practiced a number of the positions we discovered, we intuitively became aware of ‘memories’ and information about additional positions not yet found in the physical remains.

What benefits do the Ancient hand, head and body positions offer?

Of the ancient positions that we have researched and recreated, just a few of the benefits include: Cleansing of the aura and chakras, opening the heart and third eye, birthing a paradigm shift, receiving blessings (grace), and transcending time and space in order to be open to the wisdom of all time.

What do you mean by the Power of Ancient Egypt, or “Mother Egypt” as you call it?

From our experience over the years of conducting Group Healings during our Journeys to Egypt with groups of friends and clients of The Way To Balance, we’ve gained first-hand experience of the power and profound effect of Egypt’s pyramids, temples and tombs. Each of these sacred places has an energy vortex that can ignite a person’s sacred spiritual powers and catapult them on their journey of healing – in whatever capacity they currently need the healing (i.e. physical or psychological). We refer to Mother Egypt as the place where Initiates walked, and which is referred to by many as “the cradle of civilization.”

Can you share some ACTUAL EXAMPLES of sacred hand/body positions?

Yes! Here are two of our favorite positions:

Position 1: Embracing Wisdom by Opening the Heart

(In the photo that accompanies this article, you’ll see a hieroglyph of this hand/body position, as well as Aaron Singleton recreating the same position)

To recreate this position: Sit up straight in a chair and rest your left hand on your upper chest just below the collar bone, while you “suspend” your right hand 5-8 inches above your left knee.

The benefit or intent of this position: When we are willing to be in an open-hearted space (the sacred, spiritual heart, as opposed to the emotional heart), we embrace wisdom. This is where our soul can connect safely with the Creative Forces.

NOTE: On our Egyptian Journeys, we recommend that participants practice this hand position between the Paws of the Great Sphinx, close to her/his heart. For us, the ancient Sphinx has a very feminine energy, and has shared messages with us and our traveling companions every time we have visited, bestowing knowledge for us to carry on our journey and to apply in our lives.

Position 2: Receiving Blessings

To recreate this position: Stand up straight and tip your head back at a 45° angle. Place your right hand about level with the head (with the elbow in front of the body, and the palm facing forward). Rest your left hand at your side.

The benefit or intent of this position: Open yourself to the special blessings the universe has for you today, and be receptive to new possibilities just around the corner. . .
