River Canyon Retreat is more than 500 acres of wild and beautiful land ….. meadows, hills, cliffs, ponds and a mile of private South Yuba River above Bridgeport State Park, Nevada County, N. California. Our service is to provide retreat space in a natural environment. We facilitate groups and individuals for celebrations, ceremonies, workshops, seminars and retreats providing an environment that promotes physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Shamanic Breathwork sessions are offered for groups and individuals. During the summer on most Saturday evenings we do "Breathwork under the Stars". It is quite spectacular to come out of a session and watch the full moon rising or a sky full of stars. River Canyon Retreat is a way to reconnect with yourself in nature and experience the Ceremony of life.
In the year 2000 I followed my vision to buy the River Canyon retreat property on the South Yuba, build a straw bale house off the grid and then to open my home to my fellow travelers who are desiring spiritual retreat. This spring of 2003 we begin offering learning opportunities around raw foods. Eating raw foods has changed my life in a way that I know will support many others who come here for retreat.I have many years background in business and marketing in a memorable past life. More recently I have studied with several Native American teachers. The ceremonies we offer have a direct link to my belief that the Sweat Lodge and Vision Quest are exceptional opportunities for self-discovery and shifting energies. I am totally grateful for my dear friend Andrine who has facilitated several Vision Quests for me and is teaching me about the Rainbow Healing Lodge. Andrine has helped me taste deeply into the mystery. I am also grateful to my Shamanic Breathwork teacher Linda Star Wolf for all her love, patience, direction and encouragement.
In our gatherings we share experiences of our understanding that all life is related. We are all part of each other and part of the Divine plan regardless of religion, color, country of origin or economic status. While we accept donations for services to support the River Canyon Retreat, we do not have or intend to have any tax-exempt status. We are a Church for God, here as a refuge for the tired and weary of spirit, as a guardian of the land and teacher of how to walk lightly on our planet.
