Arlene Gillo, L.Ac. specializes in facial/ cosmetic acupuncture, infertility for women and men and addiction; acupuncture and herbs for women's health, stress, anxiety, depression, sport injury, and much more. Arlene also provides nutritional and herbal consultation. Most insurance is accepted. Arlene also specializes in animal/veterinary acupuncture working mostly with dogs and cats.

Profile and Credentials        

Arlene Gillo graduated summa cum laude from Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in 2000 and received her license in acupuncture the same year. A year later, she continued her studies in Beijing, China where she interned at several hospitals in the department of gynecology/obstetrics and neurology. In Beijing, she also attended classes for facial and abdominal acupuncture and herbal medicines used for different conditions and diseases pertaining to the skin, face and weight reduction. Her interests and ongoing studies in cosmetic acupuncture for facial rejuvenation, fertility for women and men, and addiction have at attracted an eclectic group of patients to her practice. When prescribing herbal formulas, Arlene carefully considers the patient's constitution and condition in order to support and strengthen the patient and her/his treatments.

Arlene has extensive experience in pain management working with worker's compensation and personal injury patients with musculoskeletal problems (i.e. low back pain, carpel tunnel, etc.) Prior to being an acupuncturist, Arlene was a massage therapist and instructor working mainly with sports injury.

Being an animal lover and having three dogs of her own, Arlene has a veterinary acupuncture practice at Rose City Veterinary Hospital located in Pasadena, California. She works closely with veterinarians, providing acupuncture and prescribing herbs and nutritional supplements to dogs and cats with various ailments.

Arlene is a staff acupuncturist at Back In Balance, a holistic health care centre that addresses your physical, emotional and spiritual imbalances. Focusing on individual needs, they are committed to seeking out the root of the problem rather than masking it.

Cosmetic Acupuncture        

Experience a non-surgical facelift with acupuncture and energy light rejuvenation. The acupuncture needles will activate acetylecholine, a neurotransmitter that causes muscle contraction, resulting in a tighter, smoother skin.

Energy light rejuvenation combines microcurrent with light and color therapy affecting collagen production, firming skin tone and smoothening fine lines.

The entire treatment will cause wrinkles to soften, giving you a relaxed vibrant glow. The initial treatment will include nutritional counseling that will give you guidance in promoting and maintaining a youthful skin.

The protocol for this non-surgical facelift is a series of ten treatments. Initial treatment is 90 minutes. Treatments thereafter are one hour.
