The following history of my training and work attests to my dedication to natural health therapies to prevent illness. In 1988 I attended the Sarasota School of Massage in Florida and became a licensed massage therapist. I attended the Venice School of Massage in Florida and became licensed as a Colon Hydrotherapist in the State of Florida.

I moved to my home state of Connecticut and worked with Dr. Alan Moskowitz of New England Healing Arts Group In New Haven CT from 1989 to 1995. I worked for Kelsar Physical Therapy in Norwich CT for 3 years. In 1995 I was certified in the Dr. Vodder technique of Manual Lymphatic Drainage.

I worked for Creative Body Therapies In New Haven from 1995 to 1999. In 1996 I was licensed by the State of Connecticut as a Professional Massage Therapist ~ before 1996 the state did not license massage therapists . I worked for Dr Peter Lawler in Glastonbury Ct for five years.

In 2003 I continued study of the lymphatic system and received certification in Electro Lymphatic Drainage and Hannah Krogers Lymphatic Techniques. Also in 2003, I was certified with the National Board of Colon Hydrotherapists. In 2004 I received my certification in Lymphology and Decongestive Physiotherapy in Utah. In 2005 I completed a 3 year study in Holistic Iridology. I am a member of the American College of Iridologists.

I am a certified esthetician, attending classes at Germaine de Cappuccini, Usa. Inc. of Miami Fla. and Atelier Esthetique of Manhattan, N.Y. I trained in spa therapy techniques from Dr. Reinhard Bergel. I am a member of the International Association of Colon Hydrotherapists and The Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals.

What a Colon Hydrotherapy session is like

95% of clients are pleasantly suprised that the session is not anything like their preconceived apprehensions. Soft soothing music is played. A gentle abdominal massage with manual lymphatic technique stimulates peristalsis and helps eliminate gas. Essential oils are applied to the abdomen for gas and parasites.

What causes a difficult session

If the client is dehydrated, it may take 3 sessions to soften the hardened dehydrated waste. Constipation with poor bowel tone can feel uncomfortable the first session. Excess gas will interfere with peristalsis and the client may experience more cramping. A stickey mucoid plaque will require several sessions to remove. Any inflamation will create a sensative response to colon hydrotherapy. Stress or exhaustion will affect the colon. There are millions of nerve cells in the colon. the colon is very much a part of the mind-body connection. Any emotional issues of "not letting go" may cause the colon to "hold on"

Even though these are challenges to colon hydrotherapy, the benefits far outweigh the difficulties. Clients find the therapy very beneficial.

Type of Equipment used

Longevity Wellness Therapies uses the Toxygen Model BSC-UV colonic instrument manufactured by Dotolo Research Inc. The instrument is cleaned immediately after every treatment with a disinfection solution. The full strength sterilization solution is automatically diluted and injected to disinfect the instrument. Located in Largo, Fl, The Dotolo company is one of several that has FDA approval. This means the equipment has been tested for maximum performance and safety. Does the equipment use disposable speculums and hoses?

Absolutley. The clients safety and peace of mind is top priority. Disposable speculums and hoses are a must for a professional colon therapist in practice today. Be sure to ask your therapist.

Is the water filtered?

A 5 micron partical filter is used. Also the BSC-UV has a built-in carbon filter to remove chlorine and other organic toxins that may be in the water. And the built-in ultraviolet light will kill water born bacteria such as cryptospordium. Replacement and maintenance of filters are recorded in a Safety Manual.

What is pressurized water and is it safe?

For example, when you turn on your kitchen faucet, you are turning on pressurized water. You control the flow of the pressurized water from a trickle to a stream by opening the valve. Colonic equipment that uses pressurized water works the same way. The flow control valve on the instrument is similar to your faucet. There is a guage that registers the level of pressure as the water gently fills the colon. The water enters the colon at 1/4 LB pressure. This is equal to one cup of water every 30 seconds. This is very slow. As the colon gently fills, the pressure guage needle will slowly rise to about 1 LB pressure. This indicates and simply means the internal pressure of the colon has equalized to the pressure the client would normally feel just before a regular elimination. The therapist will then open the release valve, and the contents of the colon will empty thru the waste line. A colonic will consist of a series of fills and releases, gently softening and soaking hardened encrusted fecal matter and mucoid plaque to release waste. The procedure is very effective and safe.

Sea Mineral wraps

Compression Wraps

An ancient Tibetian form of reflexology. Vita Flex means "Vitality thru the reflexes". There are 5000 reflex points thru out the body. The treatment is primarily applied to the feet using specific essential oils to reflex points, bringing balance and harmony to the correlating glands and organs. This is due to the electrical charge carried by essential oils, in synergistic harmony with the body's autonomic nervous system. The body's nervous system is connected to the reflex points. These electrical charges , usually electrons or negative ions, generate namo-volts of electricity (Billionths of a volt) at megahertz frequencies.

Rain Drop Therapy

The application of oils by "dropping" them directly onto the spine. Using light strokes and Vita Flex technique, they are worked into the spinal column. Lymphatic Massage

Aroma therapy massage is a light effleurage with rythmatic layering stroke; application in direction of lymphatic flow. Specific essential oils are applied to stimulate the lymphatic system. This technique is to increase lymphatic flow. Chronic lymphatic congestion or stasis would require Lymphatic Drainage - a more therapeutic and specific technique. (See lymphatic drainage on menu.) Due to the all the nerve endings just under the skin, the lymphatic massage has a claming effect on the autonomic nervous system. Used in psychiatric treatment centers in Europe, it has proven to be excellent for anxiety and depression. Any stress, melancholy or feeling overwhelmed would be soothed with the light vibrational massage and the oils for calming and relaxation.

Healing properties of Essential Oils

Essential oils are made up of tiny molecules. Due to there infinitestimal size these molecules easily pass thru the cell walls of every one of our 100 trillion cells. They bring nutrition and information into the cell and carry waste products out. Any Essential oil placed anywhere on the body can reach every part of your body within minutes.
