Christie M.S. Baisas, LMT
is the owner of Massotherapie Associates in Middletown, Kentucky. And is a Graduate of the Louisville School of Massage & was their very first scholarship recipient. Massage Therapy chose Christie. Let me explain: On the advice of her Chiropractor, Christie decided to find out more about Massage & it's benefits. After contacting Louisville School of Massage, she started their 2 year program. Within this time frame, Christie was still getting regular adjustments from her chiropractor & receiving massage therapy in class twice per week for 6 months. With Massage & Chiropractic Care, her sciatic pain was gone. Needless to say, Christie flew through the program in 15 months with flying colors. Her goal is to help people with pain; mental, physical or both.
Christie has had the privilege to work inside of Drawbridges Counseling Services in LaGrange, Kentucky for over 3 years. In fact, she did her research project at Drawbridges while in massage school. The project was titled, "How Massage Therapy Effects the Emotions of Abused Children."
"The body remembers traumatic events through the encoding in the brain of sensations, movements, and emotions that are associated with trauma. Healing PTS and PTSD necessitates attention to what is happening in the body as well as the interpretations being made in the mind." (Rothchild, B. 2000 The Body Remembers, p.173)
Christie specializes in massage therapy for survivors of trauma & abuse for mental &/or physical pain, as well as Swedish, Deep Tissue & Neuromuscular (Trigger Point) Therapy for physical, soft tissue pain.
Christie also worked as an Inside Sales Engineer from 1991 - 2001, for a small, minority, woman-owned business in Louisville, Kentucky. She received technical sales training & managed over 300 residual accounts, consisting of U.S. military installations, airports, colleges & universities to Fortune 500 companies. Christie had a very loyal following due to her honesty & integrity. She always listened to her clients & made sure that they were taken care of; she considered them to be "like family." And, that’s the way you will be treated here.
