Healing Wisdom. Practical Knowledge.
The Chicago College of Healing Arts Massage Therapy Training Program offers a comprehensive training in massage designed to produce highly skilled practitioners capable of interfacing with mainstream doctors and chiropractors. We blend a solid grounding in Anatomy with a sophisticated training in body mechanics, postural and movement training; layer on advanced tissue manipulation technique, and round the process out by studying the relationship of the body and mind through the lens of Mind/Body Issues in Treatment. We complete this rich training with a course in Shiatsu, a highly useful acupressure massage system. It is our goal to produce massage therapists who are fully prepared to enter the field of massage therapy with a wider range of skills and techniques than is typical.
Our Structural Therapy Training Program is designed to give Massage Therapists and other Bodyworkers an excellent modality to add to their repertoire. Completion of the program earns graduates the title of *Certified Structural Therapist.* Many Massage Therapists find that Structural Therapy becomes their primary modality; others use Structural principles and techniques to augment their existing Massage skills.
For the layperson who wants an excellent introduction to the use of herbs in the family setting and the basics of medicine making, we have our Living With Herbs short course. This course takes place over five weekends and introduces sixty commonly used herbs in a lively and engaging format which includes medicine making labs and one country weekend of plant identification and wildcrafting. All our education is a blend of didactic course work, labs, practicum and community work, designed to give students practical and in-depth knowledge.
