Debbie Markel, CH, CNHP, Certified Herbalist, studied Western and Oriental herbal medicine through the East West School of Herbology, founded by prominent author, acupuncturist and herbalist Michael Tierra where she earned her certification as an herbalist. Other teachers Debbie has studied with are Anne McIntyre, Deb Soule and Rosemary Gladstar. She has taught herbal medicine classes and educational seminars in and around Richmond, VA. She received her Certified Natural Health Professional (CNHP) designation through the National Association of Certified Natural Health Professionals and is a member of the American Herbalist's Guild, The American Botanical Council, The National Nutritional Foods Association and Powhatan's Wellness Network Associates. Debbie is also co-founder of the Powhatan Health & Wellness Organization which holds an annual Wellness Day Fair in Powhatan, VA. Debbie was recently quoted in an online article for the Cure The Children Foundation.
