Highland Counseling PC
Description
As an Existential Psychotherapist, I specialize in helping adults who are experiencing depression, sadness, anxiety, emotional pain from childhood, loss, midlife distress, and struggles in relationships. In therapy, we are able to hold a different kind of conversation, one which will deepen the meaning of your experiences, transform your suffering into hope, and allow you to further cultivate your own distinctive voice and to commit to your own unique life projects. My hope is that our work together will allow you to transcend limiting ways of being and relating, and become more fully present to your own possibilities.

Philosophy and Comments
My approach to therapy is broadly humanistic and includes phenomenological (i.e., person-centered and Gestalt), existential-hermeneutic, and psychodynamic methods. As a person-centered and Gestalt therapist, I am committed to understanding your concerns in an accepting and non-judgmental way, and in helping you become more aware of your here-and-now experience. As an existential therapist, I am interested in helping you clarify and make further meaning of your experience, and obtain a wider perspective on your struggles. As a psychodynamic therapist, I would like to help you understand the way significant early experiences -- i.e., those occurring in childhood -- continue to live profoundly in the present.
