Bay Star EquiCenter is a place to Explore, Discover and Learn about yourself and others in a friendly, relaxed country setting. After discussing your goals we will design an activity to be completed using a horse or horses. Horses are able to reflect our true emotions back to us thereby creating metaphors which can assist in greater self understanding and enlightenment. The experience will be yours to define and interpret as you wish. Our staff will be guiding you but not determining the outcome. Because there is no riding and all activities are done on the ground, it is a safe, fun environment to explore what our gentle giants have to offer. We are EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) certified. Whether you want to just have some fun with friends or seriously explore an issue we can accommodate you. If you are in therapy and would like to include your therapist in a session we can do that. We also have a mental health specialist on staff as well. Profile and Credentials

All my life I have loved and been involved with horses. Most of my life I have been drawn to work with animals and people. Although my degree is in Psychology I chose to practice as an Eagala Certified Equine Specialist. I have experienced the power of my own horses and I have always known that there is a special connection between humans and horses. As a child I remember several poignant events that at the time seemed to be all about the horse but in retrospect had nothing to do with the horse. The horse was merely the conduit to a broader understanding of the problem and then the solution became visible. I get so much joy seeing that look of wonder on clients faces as they experience their own AHA! moment. Past work experiences include: work with hospitalized adults and children

-adjudicated youth

-addiction treatment centers

-social service centers

-Cincinnati Public School system

Volunteer experiences include:

-Board member for Diamond Oaks Equestrian Center

-Butler County Mounted Deputy Sheriff

Philosophy and Comments

I believe that we have our own answers to our questions about life.I am also a Traditional Tibetan Reiki Master. I mention this only because that work has taught me how important it is to allow the process of self-discovery to unfold. Self-awareness, reflection and discovery can only happen when we are ready. Wisdom does lie in the eye of the beholder and no one else has walked our walk. What a wonderful surprise to come across the EAGALA model and have all those pieces fit together just like a puzzle. The beauty is that the experience with the horse is so personal, the message so provocative that it continues to evoke insights long after the session ends. The experience keeps reinventing itself. Try it, I think you will be surprised.

Group sessions and individual sessions are by appointment only. Fees vary depending on services.
