Profile and Credentials

We are Certified Professional Midwives (CPM), Licensed in the state of Oregon (LDM). We practice under the guidelines established by the Oregon Midwives Council (OMC), the Midwives Alliance of North America (MANA), the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) and the state of Oregon.

Philosophy and Comments

Our Philosophy

We believe birth is a normal process and that midwives are the guardians of normal birth. The practice of midwifery is not the same as the practice of medicine. A midwife does not control and manage the birth process to fit the medical model. Instead, the midwife supports the rights of parents to choose where they will give birth and whom they want to assist them during their pregnancy, labor and the birth of their baby.
