I provide midwifery care (prenatal, birth and postpartum) well-woman care, homebirth services, hospital midwifery support, and childbirth education classes to women and their families. I provide herbs, homeopathy and acupressure, nutritional counseling and lactation support.

I provide Holistic Well-Woman (gynecological) care at the UPAYA Center for Well-Being in Oakland. This includes gentle, thorough annual exams, (Pap Smears, cultures, Breast Exam, etc.) birth control counseling and diaphram/cervical cap fittings. Pre-conception and perinatal consulting, nutritional/herbal workups also included.

I am a California Licensed Midwife (LM) and CPM. I was trained in the apprenticeship model, attended a midwifery graduate school and hold a BA in Women’s Studies from UC Berkeley. I have spent time in high volume midwifery clinics, conducted births in rural South Indian hospitals, and have attended homebirths in the Bay Area for six years. I have extensively studied multi-cultural views of the body, medicinal herbs, and am a certified acupressure practicioner. I love providing midwifery services for families of diverse backgrounds and experiences.

I provide midwifery care in my clients’ homes, or my home if preferred. I serve families in the greater Bay Area.

I believe that women’s knowledge of healing is a tool for empowerment on all levels, and that homebirth and midwifery care are natural extensions of our right to make informed choices about our healthcare. I encourage women to become their own healers, and explore our intuitive wisdom as part of our diverse experience. I believe that childbirth is a time when women and their families can embrace the physical, spiritual and emotional as one, and that birth is normal, natural, and a supreme right of passage.

I offer a sliding scale fee and can accept most major insurance carriers.
I have very flexible office hours.
