Hot Stone Massage

Hand-picked basalt stones are heated in a hot water bath and placed upon the body. Used in conjunction with massage and aromatherapy the heat from the stones penetrates deeply into the muscle tissue and acts as a natural relaxant.
Hot Stone Massage combines the proven benefits of Swedish massage with deep heat and pressure provided by using warm basalt stones as tools to massage.
The heat from the stones increases the relaxation response and promotes healing through improved blood flow and circulation. Tensions are released quickly and with ease. Tendons and muscles relax faster, increasing the range of motion a person experiences.
Cold stones can also be used to reduce swelling of injuries or around the eyes. Cold stones can decrease inflammation and invigorate when feeling fatigued .
CrainioSacral Therapy
The craniosacral system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. It extends from the bones of the skull, face and mouth, which make up the cranium, down to the sacrum, or tailbone area.
Since this vital system influences the development and performance of the brain and spinal cord, an imbalance or restriction in it could potentially cause any number of sensory, motor or neurological disabilities. These problems could include chronic pain, eye difficulties, scoliosis, motor-coordination impairments, learning disabilities and other health challenges.
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle method of detection and correction that encourages your own natural healing mechanisms to dissipate these negative effects of stress on your central nervous system. You also benefit from better overall health and resistance to disease.
Shiatsu
Shiatsu is an ancient healing art, developed from influences of Chinese Medicine and Japan’s form of massage called Anma. The word ‘shiatsu’ in Japanese means ‘finger pressure’.
Pressure is applied using palms and thumbs (elbows, knees and feet are sometimes used as well) to work the flow of Chi (Chinese), Ki (Japanese) or ‘life energy’ that circulates the body through meridians (channels). Also, meridians can be associated with the functioning of internal organs.
Shiatsu promotes overall health of the mind, body, heart and spirit of a person and thus reduces the chance of becoming ill in the future. Other benefits include (but are not limited to): sleeping more deeply, feeling of calmness, centering, feeling lighter and disappearance of old aches and pains.
Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy is the use of water as a medium to transfer heat to the body for healing purposes. The use of hot, moist towels bring blood to the surface of the body and open pores. Cold, moist towels tone and normalize circulation and in the process, water is absorbed through the skin.
Hydrotherapy enhances the immune system, digestive system and circulatory system to bring overall health and balance to the mind, body, heart and spirit.
