Swedish Health Institute is an Acupuncture Clinic and Wellness Center located in the heart of Encino, in West San Fernando Valley.
At Swedish Health Institute you are cared for as a whole person. You are given time to talk about what's going on with you. The staff will do what they can to accomodate you, and to give you a thorough assessment. A body-mind- soul approach is what we believe in.
Every treatment is a "treat". You can relax at our serene clinic where everyone is equally important. We promise you the best care possible, and we will be with you on the path of healing. It's our mission to instill hope, support healing and teach you self-help.
Profile and Credentials
Anders Jelveus, Doctor of Naprapathy, licensed Acupuncturist, Editorial boardmember on the Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies, part owner of the Swedish Health Institute. Has over 20 years of experience in the health business.
Doctor Anders has been an avid teacher for over fifteen years in Scandinavia and in the USA.
Lena Jelveus, Swedish Physical Therapist, licensed Massage Therapist, certified Pilates Instructor, published author, director of the Swedish Health Institute. Has been in the healing field since 1980. Lena has been a massage teacher for over fifteen years.

Our goal is to help you and your loved ones live healthier and happier lives. Swedish Child Massage By Lena Jelveus
SWEDISH CHILD MASSAGE is a book that was written by physical therapist and international massage instructor Lena Jelveus, PT, LMT. A native of Finland, she has been active in the field of touch for two decades and is an authority and published author of several books on touch in Sweden. In addition, she has been published in several articles in Swedish magazines and professional journals. In the states, her work can be read in the Association of Bodywork and Massage Professionals newsletter “Different Strokes”.
This Los Angeles resident has created a unique and rare approach to massage techniques that can be used from infancy to school age. Compelled to share her knowledge in this area after a vision that came to her one night, Lena spent over a year on this project followed by a Swedish release in November 1998. It took another five years to compile the English edition for its American release. SWEDISH CHILD MASSAGE- A Family Guide to Nurturing Touch", was released in December of 2004.
