Rapha-El Acupuncture Plus, LLC
Description
Acupuncture is an essential component of Traditional Chinese/Oriental Medicine that works with the natural energy system of the body to promote the body's ability to heal itself. The Chinese believe this vital energy, "Qi", is behind all life forms and processes. This energy flows along meridians, or pathways, and each meridian is associated with a particular physiological system and internal organ. TCM/OM is a comprehensive health care system using acupuncture, herbs, bodywork, nutritional therapy, and lifestyle changes. It uses tongue and pulse checks, medical history and other signs and symptoms to create a composite TCM/OM diagnosis from which a treatment plan is formulated.
Profile and Credentials
Mary E.K. Denison is a licensed acupuncturist and has a Master's Degree in Oriental Medicine; Acupuncture, classic Chinese herbal formulas, Gua Sha, Moxa, etc. She has been a massage therapist and foot reflexologist for 25+ years, and may incorporate any of these techniques with her acupuncture treatments, as needed. This may include acupressure and/or trigger point work. She is certified in Esogetic Colorpuncture, a German naturopathic therapy using light and color, developed by Peter Mandel.
Mary would love to speak to groups to introduce the benefits that Acupuncture/Oriental Medicine, Colorpuncture, and facial/abdominal rejuvenation can offer. Please send an email with details if you would like her to speak to your group (Twin cities and surrounding communities only at this time).
Please support licensed acupuncturists, who have passed the national exam given by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). The NCCAOM holds a high standard of education that demands certain criteria be met before acupuncture students are allowed to take the exam. In Minnesota, a licensed acupuncturist may have Master degrees in acupuncture/oriental medicine, which means they have probably completed 6-7 years of full-time schooling. Typically, the student must have a two year degree prior to entering school. The NCCAOM requires licensed acupuncturists to continue with advanced education in order to remain certified with them (60 hours, every four years, in specific areas; i.e. Ethics, CPR, Acupuncture, Western medicine, etc.). This certification is a requirement by the State of MN for licensed acupuncturists.
Medical doctors and chiropractors are not required by law to take this exam in order to use acupuncture in their work. Thus, they may not have had complete training (beyond 100-300 hours), nor have continued with advanced education. Therefore, they will NOT be able to fully understand the Oriental Medicine protocols and principles to use this tool properly. Thus, you may not get the healing results you are coming to obtain.
Ask for proof of NCCAOM certification, to assure yourself that you are receiving the best treatment possible.
Philosophy and Comments

I believe in God and His Divine Wisdom and Healing, and I am a Judeo-Christian. I have studied, and use, a variety of healings that touch on many cultures, i.e. Native American, Traditional Chinese/Asian, physics, Hindu, Western, etc., and that may seem controversial to some. It is not, as these healings follow the laws of nature, as do we. Therefore, I am able to create ways of healing that focus on your beliefs, allowing you to be more open to receiving healing.

Healing sounds breath meditation
The six healing sounds for Yin organs will be shown so that you can use this meditation to relax, heal your inner organs, and release stress. Mary will present them in a group setting at the office or at your place of business. Participants must be able to do range of motion with their arms and neck, and be able to lie on the floor (only one is done in a lying position). If you have breathing difficulties, please consult your doctor, though these exercises should not cause you harm in breathing, but may actually help. These should not be done on a full stomach.
