As horrific as the AIDS epidemic is, it has had one silver lining: it has implanted into the awareness of the medical community and the general public the importance of the body's immune system. What is yet to be understood by the medical community is that they need to direct more attention and research to ways to augment immune response, rather than ways to inhibit viral replication. By strengthening a person's own defenses, the body is best enabled to defend itself. Homeopathy is one way to do this. Although no therapy can or will help every HIV+ person or everyone with AIDS, homeopathy is beginning to develop a reputation for helping people at varying stages of this disease. As increasing numbers of physicians learn about homeopathic medicine, they will be exposed to viable alternative treatments which can play an integral role in the care and treatment of people with HIV and AIDS. A recent survey of physicians in the Netherlands verified this possibility. The survey showed that 50% of Dutch physicians instigated and supported the use of homeopathic and natural therapies in the treatment of people with AIDS.

Loneliness and the Spiritual Path

True love is knowing your own worth and the worth of others is irrelevant because we are made of love. When you already are something, there is no need to try and live up to it or fear that you are not worthy of it. That you are loved is a given. There is no such thing as worth or value. When you have this experience in your body, mind and emotions (instead of just understanding it intellectually) it changes the way you experience yourself and how you wish to be in the world. Not only will your relationships change, your concept of relationship will change. This process is often referred to as enlightenment. For some it happens instantly and unexpectedly, but for many people it is a gradual, ongoing process of opening to the love/light that is inside all people and all of creation. Enlightenment (or perhaps it would be more accurate to call it “enlightening”) does not mean you will never feel lonely, but that you will experience this, and all emotions, from the perspective of the larger picture of wholeness, contentment and fulfillment. One of the biggest challenges of the spiritual path is being able to hold in your consciousness and heart the most incredible joy and connectedness and the pain of the separation and fear of humanity (including your own).

Twenty-two lines connect these spheres. Rich in its inclusion of science, psychology, philosophy and theology, The Tree of Life provides a model for almost all systems of Western esoteric knowledge. These include Tarot, Astrology, Numerology, and Gematria. It is useful to think of each sphere as a file of notecards which list the various types of experience each sphere encompasses. The paths between these spheres allow for phases of evolution between them, and provide the student with keys to understanding himself and the universe in relationship to the Tree.
