In order to change behavior, the subconscious ‘mind set’ must be changed before the conscious mind will move in the direction of the desired goal. One of the simplest ways to do this is through hypnosis (mental and physical relaxation, plus imagining the goal in the present tense using all of the senses possible, positive self talk and giving thanks for the attainment of the goal). This process may or may not require a hypnotherapist. It does require desire, belief and expectancy and a commitment to using the hypnotic protocol for at least 30 days. It takes that long to establish a new habit pattern. In addition, one must act as though the goal was already obtained.

I believe for every issue there is a way around it, whether you have to confront it head on or take a path of least resistance - which is often times why you will see in Feng Shui the words "Go with the Flow."
