Acupressure for Horses: Action for Colic Concerns |

The mere mention or thought of colic strikes terror into the heart of every horse owner. It is the most dreaded, only-too-common occurrence in a horse's life. Colic is so unpredictable and seemingly so difficult to prevent. When you went out to feed in the morning, your horse seemed absolutely fine. By mid-day, he was agitated, kicking his flank, and curling his upper lip. In an instant you feel the rush of panic and sense of helplessness. At this moment you can remember, you are not helpless - you can work acupressure points while waiting for your holistic veterinarian to arrive. From the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) point of view, colic is the result of an energy blockage that is causing an imbalance in the body. The horse has energy pathways or channels running through his entire body, these pathways are known as meridians. There are specific points, or pools of energy, along the meridians that can help maintain the harmonious energy flow through the meridian channel system. These points are called acupoints. A TCM practitioner uses acupoints during the Point Work section of an acupressure treatment. When there is an emergency, such as extremely acute colic, the practitioner would most likely perform the Point Work immediately rather than a complete treatment. We have seen excellent results even when the person performing the acupressure is not an experienced acupressure practitioner. Your horse can derive benefit from your working the acupoints described in this article.

Yoga can and will change your life. But if all you bring to Yoga are your own concerns it won't be able to change you to the degree it might. The ultimate goal of Yoga is Self-Realization, the internal union of individual consciousness with Divine Force, of self consciousness with super consciousness. To reach that goal requires something more than the postures, chanting, and meditation of traditional forms of Yoga. It requires a Yoga of Cosmic Force that clears hidden emotional toxicity and creates a spiritual opening for unconditional love to flow through us into the world. The first principle of this Yoga is that the karmic blocks in our system prevent Divine power from flowing into us to the degree that it should. Our karma prevents us from fulfilling our potential. Given that reality it does not matter how much energy we put into postures or how much time we focus on meditation. Nothing will fundamentally change until we change the subconscious landscape where our karma resides.

The Akashic Field is the energy storage hologram for our soul as it acquires human experiences. Every thought, word, deed and action is recorded or imprinted on this energy field. The Akashic Field is very similar to an invisible super computer holding vast amounts of information about YOU. This field is continuously written and rewritten every day. As a soul is trying to acquire various learning experiences, those situations and experiences are imprinted to it for access later by an individual's subconscious. This is not a new concept throughout history. Many ancient cultures have reported the existence of the Akashic Records or "Book of Life". Akasha is a Sanskrit word meaning "sky", "space" or "aether". The Akashic Records are therefore said to be a collection of wisdom that is stored in the aether. The Akashic Records are said to have existed since the beginning of the planet. Just as we have various specialty libraries (e.g., medical, law), there are said to exist various Akashic Records (e.g., human, animal, plant, mineral, etc). Quantum scientists are now recognizing that the Akasha as recorded by the ancients is really an energy field that connects all living things. Akashic Field Therapy or AFT is an integral method of soul clearing that accesses specific information from an individual's Akashic Field. AFT brings conscious awareness the patterns that are blocking a person's full expression of their authentic spiritual self.

Tsunami Disaster – How Can We Heal?

Disasters challenge our internal belief systems. They can bring up what we need to heal in ourselves. They can reinforce our victim mentality or they can provide us with opportunities to believe in something bigger and have more faith in what we don’t see and understand. What if there are reasons beyond our comprehension? What if this disaster can actually help by bringing up from the unconscious our suppressed memories and beliefs we need to change in ourselves and never deal with? We are born with a purpose. That purpose is to find our “real” selves through the illusion of who we think we are based on what we experienced and learned. We come in with a contract. We learn lessons and we move on. We do not know what everyone’s contract is nor are we supposed to. If we continue to think we are victims, we will continue to bring in life based on that template. Disasters can give us a chance to believe in something else and to have faith in our higher power. To value ourselves and others. To watch our thoughts and feelings we project outside of ourselves knowing they can affect the world and to appreciate more everyone in our lives we sometimes take advantage of. Most of all to rid ourselves of fear and to focus on love. If everyone would focus on love, then THAT feeling would go out and create a better life and a better world.

How To Attract the Love Relationship You Want

To attract a healthy relationship, create a template to begin now in your imagination and in the dream state. Picture where you might meet Mr. or Ms. Right, the conversation, the feeling of ease and delight. Christy wrote out a personal ad, describing her good qualities and what she wanted in a partner. She imagined posting this while going to sleep to find and evaluate similar postings from men, since everything begins first on the energetic level, then manifests on the physical plane. Get out your crayons and draw the energy and symbols of the quality of relationship you want, such as red for excitement and an equal sign for equality. Write a list of the important characteristics you want, like mutual respect, or similar interests. On a separate piece of paper, make a list of barriers to the relationship you want, such as lack of time, fear, lack of confidence, or hangovers from previous partners or parents. Vigorously tear the paper up and burn the pieces. Think of models of wonderful relationships and match the qualities of these couples. Draw a new positive sign to put up in front of the 2nd and 4th charkas with your imagination and intention, the emotional and heart centers of the energy body. You need to be clear about what you like about yourself, if you expect someone else to like you, and to clarify what’s important to you in a partner.

The Medicinal Value of Raw Honey

The use of honey as a wound dressing material, an ancient remedy that has been rediscovered, is becoming of increasing interest as more reports of its effectiveness are published. The clinical observations recorded are that infection is rapidly cleared, inflammation, swelling and pain are quickly reduced, odour is reduced, sloughing of necrotic tissue is induced, granulation and epithelialisation are hastened, and healing occurs rapidly with minimal scarring. The antimicrobial properties of honey prevent microbial growth in the moist healing environment created. Unlike other topical antiseptics, honey causes no tissue damage: in animal studies it has been demonstrated histologically that it actually promotes the healing process. It has a direct nutrient effect as well as drawing lymph out to the cells by osmosis. The stimulation of healing may also be due to the acidity of honey. The osmosis creates a solution of honey in contact with the wound surface which prevents the dressing sticking, so there is no pain or tissue damage when dressings are changed. There is much anecdotal evidence to support its use, and randomised controlled clinical trials that have shown that honey is more effective than silver sulfadiazine and polyurethane film dressings for the treatment of burns.
