The Art of Ayurvedic Stone Massage

The roots of hot stone massage Therapy can be found in India. Part of the curriculum at universities in India is a course called "Shila Abyhanga". Shila is a Sanskrit word for stone and abhyanga is a Sanskrit word for oil massage. This course dates back more than 5,000 years as part of the standard protocol for most medical Ayurvedic physicians. Skilled stone therapists are taught to work with the earth energy, which follows the downward flow in the body called apana vayu, a Sanskrit term. The purpose of stone massage is to anchor the root (muladhara) chakra and the second (svadhisthana) chakra of the body. These chakras help our bodies stay connected to the Earth. Many people in our technological society feel disconnected, rushed, high on coffee, over-stimulated and stressed out. When a stone therapist works with the downward flow in the body and anchors the lower chakras, a sensation of tranquility is restored within the mind despite the world around them where people eat their lunch while driving and read their email while listening to voicemail.

Successfully Treating Allergies With Oriental Medicine |

What is the root cause of seasonal allergies? According to Oriental medicine, these allergies are due to repeated invasion of the lungs by wind and cold. Normally, the weather will not have any harmful effect on your body when it is strong enough to defend itself. The wind only becomes a cause of allergies when either your body is weak in relation to the weather or the weather is unseasonably excessive (too windy in the spring).
In modern medicine we speak of the immune system protecting the body. In Oriental medicine we have the concept of the Wei-Qi or Defensive Qi that circulates on the skin and muscles to protect us from invasion of wind and cold. It is only when this precious protection becomes compromised that we are vulnerable to the elements of nature. Our Defensive Qi can be weakened due to lack of sleep, high stress, negative emotional states, poor diet or a combination there of.
If our diet is fairly pure, we exercise regularly, our stress level is low, and our elimination is working well, we usually experience few allergic symptoms. However, if we eat out often and compromise our diet, have a high stress lifestyle, exercise less or not at all, and have some temporary constipation, we may experience sinus and respiratory problems, skin rashes or other allergic reactions. From the Oriental medical viewpoint these allergic reactions are the result of an imbalance in energies and organs in the body.

Celebrating the Beauty and Joy of the Earth for Wholeness and Harmony

We know pollution, personal and political grievances and turmoil, and tribal conflict are widespread in the world, but we have not found a way to fix them. So, what can we do to resolve the problems of the Earth? These conflicts are but reflections of our own inner turmoil which need resolution, and we have many paths to express and resolve them. We have yet to find the path for universal peace and understanding. One answer lies very close to us, in the celebration of the Earth, her elements, and her peoples. She holds a template for our beauty and joy and harmony which can assist us in our path to wholeness. Let us look to the Earth to discover that template, because she is the act of Creation in process now, without tainting, wherever she exists in her natural state. Look to her natural beauty and wonder. She is expressing that Joy & Beauty of Creation of the Divine, at this moment. The Earth embodies the heart of the Sacred, whatever we choose to call it, anchoring the heart of the heavens here before us, around, and within us. If we go out and experience the beauty of this Earth, be part of it, we can receive that joy, and feel its harmony. That brings its imprint into us, to inundate us, and align us with our own natural beauty and harmony, as we ourselves have risen from the earth, and are in harmony with that same imprint.

Kyanite - The Blue Wonder

History seems to have overlooked this unusual, energetic blue crystal. Perhaps its very early confusion with Sapphires and Spinel caused this oversight. Today, however, Kyanite is an important tool among the healer's crystals. The blade like structure of this crystal will allow you to use it to slice through blockages in both a patient's aura and Chara system. It opens and aligns all the Chakra, making it a versatile tool. More importantly to the healer, Kyanite does not absorb the harmful energies removed during the healing process. Kyanite is a powerful ally for enhancing your psychic skills. It works on both the Throat and Third Eye Chakra, helping to both open your "sight" and clear the way for communication with your guides and Angels, allowing you to more accurately interpret what you are sensing or "seeing". Kyanite is a very useful gemstone, but be careful not to develop a dependence on it. If you use it in your work, don't carry it as a companion stone. When you are needing its company, set the crystal aside every couple of days. You'll find that your body has been teaching itself the crystal's healing pattern and will often behave as if your Kyanite is still with you.

In most cases, advertising your private practice is one of the most costly and least effective ways for you, as a coach, counselor or healing professional, to attract clients. Furthermore, a larger problem with advertising is that people are more interested in seeing a coach, counselor or healing professional who they have had personal exposure to in some way, or a professional who has been referred to them by someone they know and trust. Finally, advertising works best when you target your ads to a very specific population. Few counselors and healing professionals have a defined target market for their private practice, and even if they do, they don't know how to write effective ads. However, there can still be benefits to advertising your private practice. The important thing is that you know how to do it effectively. If you are convinced you need to advertise, this article includes six tips that will help maximize the results you will get from your financial investment.
