ATC will focus treatment and diagnosis on the root cause of a complaint. This procedure often does not immediately solve all symptoms, but provides the groundwork for more permanent solution. Maximum amount of time is spent to delve into all contributing factors of dis-ease. Herbal prescriptions in which the patient participates in preparation have shown to be a most effective adjunct to acupuncture and an inexpensive alternative to acupuncture in some cases.
