yama studio is located at 5710 Bellona Avenue just a few blocks south of Belvedere Square. Our teachers are from the Integrative Yoga Therapy Tradition. We offer general yoga classes for beginner's through Seniors as well as individual Yoga therapy and Thai Massage sessions.

Yoga Alliance certified low residency Yoga teacher training begins each September in the Integrative Yoga Therapy tradition. The training requires prospective teachers to attend classes one or two weekend days a month for ten months, plus do at home assignments and complete an eight week internship.

yama studio is also honored to be part of the living lineage of Wise Earth Ayurveda®. Wise Earth Ayurveda® has been carefully developed by Sri Swamini Mayatitananda from Vedic sources and is firmly rooted in sadhana, or "practices" that are inner medicine to draw the individual back into harmony with Nature. This series of programs presents a unique body of knowledge for those wishing to bring deep and lasting healing to their community through the wholesome programs of: Food, Breath and Sound; Healing Passes; Women's Health Care; Japa-Ajapa Meditation and/Vedic Chanting.

We also offer weekend retreats and workshops for serious students and yoga teachers.

All yama studio teachers are Yoga Alliance certified at least at the 200 hour level in their traditions.

Yoga is more than asana practice and we believe that exposing people to the whole of Yoga philosophy including the yamas/niyamas can truly bring our clients to Unity consciousness. We provide teacher training and Wise Earth Ayurveda(R) training that aims at developing the whole person.

$2195 (Yoga Alliance certified 200 hour). 9 month long training that meets one weekend a month to teach therapeutic Yoga for specific needs. The program is ideal for health care professionals, massage therapists, physical therapists, nurses, midwives and psychologists, as well as those with a dedicated personal practice.
