Description
I use a combination of Polarity Therapy and Craniosacral Therapy that creates a gentle path for healing. It is particularly good for neuromuscular issues, nervous system disorders, pain, chronic stress and low energy/apathy.
Profile and Credentials
I hold a Master's Degree in Linguistics. I am certified as a Registered Polarity Practitioner by the American Polarity Therapy Association and a Registered Craniosacral Therapist by the Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America. I am a published researcher and former college instructor with 15 years experience teaching, in the U.S. and abroad, Linguistics, English as a Second Language, Dance and Polarity Therapy. I help people live the life they want through individual work in private sessions and teaching self-help techniques in classes.
Philosophy and Comments
My goal is to help people find their own unique balance that provides them with peace of mind, body and heart. I create a safe, compassionate environment for my clients in which I am fully present and listen carefully. From this place as needed I work with the person to balance their energy field and body through Polarity Therapy and Craniosacral Therapy. The better someone is able to find their balance and keep it, the more their life looks like the life they want to have.
To fully be present for my clients, I believe it is important to take care of myself, so I actively participate in my own growth and healing by receiving regular Polarity Therapy and Craniosacral Therapy sessions, exercising through dance and rock climbing, eating well and meditating daily.

Polarity Therapy
Polarity Therapy was developed by Dr. Randolph Stone, an osteopath, when he combined his knowledge as an osteopath with the knowledge he learned studying the energy based healing of Ayurvedic and Yoga traditions from India. As an osteopath, his focus was on improving the physical health of people as well as their quality of life. This focus remains true in Polarity Therapy today, so that it is designed to help people not only with their physical symptoms but general life patterns as well.
On a technical level, in addition to a principle of "as above, so below" to understand reflex points in the body, it integrates sacred geometry and chakra balancing as a way to understand patterns of energy flow through the physical body. Guided imagery can be used to help activate a person's healing capacities and implement positive change.
Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral Therapy also developed out of osteopoathy. Dr. Sutherland found that the fluid around the brain and spine actually fluctuated on its own with no apparent cause. The cause is still debated today. Dr. Sutherland termed this fluctuation or pulse, the Breath of Life. The Breathe of Life is strongly correlated with the health and vitality of a person and seems to act as the integrating function for the body. The entire body moves as one with the Breath of Life. If a part of the body gets out of sync with the Breath of Life, physical problems inevitably arise over time. Likewise, if the Breath of Life is dim, so too is the vitality of a person. A skilled craniosacral therapist can palpate the Breath of Life anywhere in the body and use it to determine where the body has lost is integrity and help with reintegration. Oftentimes, physical symptoms disappear or diminish in response to this reintegration. Likewise, a skilled practitioner can help restore the strength of the Breath of Life and help restore vitality.
As Dr. Upledger has discussed, it is this Breath of Life that moves through an area to help heal and restore function. Anytime you are not consciously overriding it with voluntary motion, this quiet, watery fluctuation moves in to restore health and balance. If this watery fluctuation cannot move through and area, the healing capacity of that area is sharply diminished as well.
Workshops and Meditation Groups
As I believe strongly in people learning how to help themselves and keep themselves in balance, in addition to private sessions I offer workshops and meditation groups that teach skills people can use to help themselves. Workshops mostly teach reflexology, energy balancing and polarity yoga techniques.
The meditation groups are focus on techniques that balance each of the chakras. Meditation groups range from from beginning to advanced.
The Polarity Center Newsletter
Every few months I put out a newsletter, that lists any upcoming workshops and meditation groups. It also includes a book recommendation with a brief description of the book. For those interested in energy and other healing themes, it provides a short "Did you know that.." section to introduce new ideas, ways of looking at things and research results supporting and explaining energy-based healing.
