Gentle Spirit Midwifery Service is a private homebirth practice serving the New York New Jersey metropolitan areas. We offer women health care in a respectable dignified way. Prenatal care may take place in the privacy of your home or in our private office space.

Gentle Spirit Midwifery offers comprehensive prenatal & postpartum care, annual breast & pap smears, contraceptive options and family planning services.

We provide wholesome care that is compassionate and sensitive to each individual. We integrate your personal needs, cultural/religious wishes, and physical aspects of your health. Our approach towards labor & birth is less intrusive. We allow for the natural process to evolve. Emphasis is placed on an outcome that is safe but also gratifying for the family’s physical, spiritual, and mental well being.

Birth is a normal natural process a time of Celebration. The philosophy of gentle Spirit Midwifery embraces birth from this perspective and recognizes every woman’s right to partake in decisions regarding maternity care. Is a native of New York. She received her MS in Midwifery 1997. Practicing maternal child health since 1984 initially as a Physician Assistant. During this 20 year span she has gained diverse clinical experience in Pediatrics, Obstetrics Gynecology, Family Planning and Primary care. For four years, she served as the Director of Midwifery Service at Morris Heights Women’s Health & Birthing Pavilion formerly known as the Childbearing Center. She is a proud mother of a wonderful teenager who was birthed by Midwives of the then Maternity Center of new York, 1986.

She is vested in and committed to impacting the incredibly high infant & maternal mortality rates particularly in communities of color and lower socioeconomic areas of these cities.

Gentle Spirit is certified to offer educational classes, seminars and workshops on a variety of topics including but not limited to adult children and infant CPR, first aid, breastfeeding, newborn care and Child Birth Education.

Gentle Spirit also offers training in female anatomy, physiology, family planning, and sexually transmitted diseases at Nursing, Midwifery and Physician Assistant Educational Institutes.
