Hands-On Health offers an integrated approach to physical fitness that engages the mind and focuses on building a healthy, injury-free body. Our therapeutic massage, classic Pilates, personal fitness training and wellness coaching services are of the highest quality, with programs for strength & conditioning, flexibility, rehabilitation, nutrition & weight management, stress management, and overall health & well-being. The result is a strong, balanced body, with an enhanced mind-body connection.
Owner/Director Joy George-Bryden, M.S. is an Ace-Certified Exercise Specialist and a Personal Trainer, Certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She is a Certified Instructor in the Authentic Pilates™ Method and a PMA Gold-Certified Pilates Teacher, a Certified Nutrition Specialist, and a Licensed Personal & Corporate Wellness Coach. A former professional dancer and NIKE-sponsored fitness spokesperson, with over twenty years' experience in the health and fitness industry, her background includes extensive training in exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, post-rehab fitness, nutrition and stress management, as well as practical experience in health club, sports medicine, physical therapy and hospital settings.
Hands-On Health is Cape Cod’s premier Pilates studio. We are the Cape’s only fully-equipped, classical Pilates studio, providing beginner, intermediate and advanced instruction in the True Pilates system, including mat, reformer/tower, cadillac (trapeze table) wunda chair, high chair, ladder barrel, ped-i-pull, small barrels and other Pilates apparatus. Training is offered through private and semi-private sessions and class format. Mat classes are offered for all levels. Small group classes on reformer/tower and mat/tower are scheduled throughout the week – often incorporating work on the wunda chair and barrels. Classes are offered in pre-paid, eight-week sessions, with drop-ins as available.
Hands-On Health personal training is tailored to the body's natural movements and to the way an individual uses their body every day -- conditioning your body to improve and excel in your activities of daily living, as well as your chosen fitness and leisure activities, through programs that meet your individual needs for:
