Poems Heal Creative Arts Center is a multidisciplinary therapy practice run by a NYS licensed clinical social worker.

The center offers opportunities for healing through the creative arts. Services are available for individuals, couples / families or groups.

Monthly poetry circles are available. On-going therapy groups using therapeutic journaling and psychodramatic techniques are forming now.

Fees are flexible. Please call for an intake appointment or for a listing of available groups.

Nancy S. Scherlong, CSW, Center Director, is a licensed clinical social worker and poet with over 10 years experience in the field of creative arts therapy.

Ms. Scherlong is a member of the American Society for Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama. She serves on the Executive Board of the National Association for Poetry Therapy as the Vice President of Membership. She is also the poetry therapy government affairs liaison to the National Coalition of Creative Arts Therapies Associations.

Poems Heal Creative Arts Center focuses on wellness not on illness.

The Center believes that true healing takes place through empowering each person's ability to create, express and transform personal metaphors, either in action or in writing.

The Center has available appointment times on weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Fees are assessed on a sliding scale based on ability to pay.
