The Rabbit Haven was formed to achieve the following goals:
The Rabbit Haven is a 501 c3 non-profit educational organization. Founded in 1991, the Rabbit Haven is a member of the House Rabbit Society, the Bay Area Shelter network, and the Virtual Pet Adoptions service. We associate with other rabbit education and support groups, such as the Rabbit Connection, The House Rabbit Society, and EtherBun. All Haven work is volunteer based. Funds are provided by individual donations. Veterinary care is provided by Creekside Veterinary Hospital in Soquel by Drs. Calvert, Hawklyn, and Sharp. We care for up to 30 rabbits at a time at various foster sites.
Rabbit Haven rescues injured and abandoned rabbits and accepts surrendered rabbits from the general public or the SPCA in Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, San Benito and Monterey Counties. Rabbit Haven works in the community, at schools, with our local SPCA shelter and other education groups to provide public education on rabbit care, feeding, grooming, medical needs, social requirements and behavioral information.
Adoption Fees. Male or female rabbit adoption fee is $45.00. Pairs are $60.00. We suggest a $50.00 donation to offset the cost of spay/neuter services (if done) and the care provided while your rabbit was in foster care. Donations are happily accepted and are tax-deductible. Visit our Adoption Showcase to see rabbits currently available for adoption. Call or email for an appointment to meet one of our adoptable bunnies or come by one of our adoption days at PetsMart in Santa Cruz, CA.
Visit us at our adoption days held every other Saturday at PetsMart Santa Cruz, 490 River Street, Santa Cruz, CA. See our website for more information and a complete calendar of Rabbit Haven events
As a 501 c3 non-profit educational organization, the Rabbit Haven depends on people like you to make a difference in the lives of abandoned rabbits. All Haven work is performed by volunteers, and its funding is derived primarily from individual donations. All donations are tax-deductible.
