Medical Reflexology is a complementary, biological, integrated, blended health science, through which an exercise pressure is applied to reflex areas, formed by 7,200 nerve endings in each hand and each foot, encouraging improved instruction to each and every single organ, gland and part of the body, thus persuading the body to biologically correct, strenthen, and reinforce itself. The highest ethical standards and to show the public and health community that Medical Reflexologists have the tenocity to come together as a well-organized group of practitioners, worthy of trust and respect by their own, and all others. The end results of your work is what give you your credibility, the government codes (must be stated on all literature when your school is a licensed post-secondary school - this is the law) gives your practice its ligitimacy, and now, fortunately, all of those codes are in place, especially the O'net Code with the United States Department of Labor and Industry for all Approved Reflexology Schools programs and their graduates. Approved schools are only schools that are licensed through their own State's Department of Education or registered with other States Department of Education, always ask for the Department of Education License Number, the phone number of the Department, verify the information, and make sure it is stated on the school's literature that they are licensed, example, licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Private Licensed Schools and the United States Department of Education - this the requirement for the international Academy of Advanced Medical Reflexology

The International Academy of Advanced Medical Reflexology in 1989 was founded by the owner, Professor Lorraina J. Telepo, CRRP. The core purpose for developing a career academy was to upgrade the practice of reflexology to Medical Reflexology and to the highest professional level. Through her diligence, hard work and skills, Professor Telepo was able to accomplish the licensing of her academy, the IAAR, with the Pennsylvania State Board of Private Licensed Schools and the United States Department of Education. This accomplishment was the milestone that finally gave reflexology its own sanction and legal fulfillment levels that would enable the public to distinguish between the professional and amateur reflexologist. This government qualification is confirmed through strict competency testing, and is the only way that a reflexologist can gain an entry-level position as a professional practitioner. The International Academy of Advanced Reflexology is the only school in the entire United States qualified to use and display the official government codes designating a program, hopefully, leading to the official licensing of a "professional" reflexologist. Professor Telepo invested her time and money to bring this profession up to the next medical level. This level places The International Academy of Advanced Medical Reflexology as the only "approved" Post-Secondary school teaching medical reflexology alone. It is the only school of medical reflexology whose graduates are considered to be performing "Medical Services" by the United States Department of Labor and Industry, and is listed as such.The most important accomplishment of the IAAR is the fact that the Reflexology Program was designated the Classification Instructional Program (CIP) Official Code 51.9999- Health Professions and Related Sciences, Other on May 6, 1997. No other reflexology school has reached this higher level, which culminates in the graduate receiving an official diploma, with the Pennsylvania Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seal. Professor Lorraina J. Telepo is a world leader, and the foremost pioneer of "Official" reflexology in the United States.
