Introduction to Thai Yoga Massage - Level 1

NCBTMB Approved for 16 CE contact hours

Prerequisites: Open to Licensed Massage Therapists, Yoga Instructors, and Professional Bodyworkers.

Thai Yoga Massage is an interactive form of spiritual bodywork that combines yoga stretching, gentle rocking, and rhythmic compression along energy lines. It opens and gently releases blockages that inhibit the flow of energy, or Qi. Traditional Thai Yoga Massage is practiced on a mat on the ground, though many of the poses you will learn can be adapted easily to table massage. Thai Yoga Massage is practiced with the client in the supine, side-lying, prone, and seated positions.

In this 2-day introductory workshop, you will learn to effectively use your hands, forearms, elbows, and feet during this 30-pose sequence. This hands-on workshop will give you the opportunity to give and receive a unique basic full-body Thai Yoga Massage. Class will begin each day with a one-hour Yoga routine designed specifically for Thai Yoga practitioners. Please wear or bring loose, comfortable clothes.

Thai Yoga Massage Level 2 Intensive

NCBTMB Approved for 16 CE contact hours

In the Thai Yoga Massage Level 2 Intensive, participants will learn to skillfully integrate 30 additional poses into their Thai Yoga Massage routine by building upon skills learned in Level 1. Level 2 material includes poses in the prone, side-lying, and seated positions. This integrated sequence comprises a 1 ½ - 2 hour Thai Yoga Massage session. The theory and location of the traditional Thai Yoga Massage energy pathways (Sen) will be taught and discussed. Class size is limited to 8 participants, thereby offering the opportunity for more individual attention and instructor feedback. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Integrated Thai Table Massage

NCBTMB Approved for 16 CE contact hours

Prerequisites: Open to Licensed Massage Therapists, Yoga Instructors, and Professional Bodyworkers.

In this 2-day, 16-hour workshop, participants will review the poses learned in the Thai Massage Level 1 course and adapt them to table massage. Participants will practice draping techniques and learn when to smoothly integrate into this routine a variety of bodywork techniques such as Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Hot Stone, Trigger Point, and Reflexology.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have learned enough material to confidently give a 90-120 minute session of integrated Thai Yoga Massage on the table. Class will begin each day with a one-hour Yoga routine designed specifically for Thai Yoga practitioners.
