East Coast Chant is a Cosmic Cabaret of performance, participation and world service. It is a divinely-inspired contemporary tapestry of chants, songs, ecstatic dance, sound healing, visual imagery, personal healing and planetary service woven with threads of light by everyone present. It’s an uplifting, healing, expressive and meditative experience for everyone and an opportunity for world service. As a group we use the awareness of our oneness in the Source of All There Is to create a powerful energy field that we consciously use to send out waves of intentional energy and Light to heal ourselves, our loved ones, and the planet.

Profile and Credentials

Tonia Pinheiro is a diverse and dynamic performer and facilitator with a wide range of creative expressions. She is involved in social change and social healing by performing and teaching various forms of improvisational theater and music and by facilitating communication and understanding within and between groups. Tonia is a Boston native currently residing in Randolph MA.

Philosophy and Comments

East Coast Chant is a musical experience ~ a Cosmic Cabaret ~ that reflects the spectrum of human experience and can include any or all of the following as Spirit guides us in the moment:

chants ~ original, improvised, invocations and prayers from various cultures and traditions;

songs ~ various genres and styles both improvised and composed;

spoken word ~ as poetry, commentary, invocation, guided imagery;

ritual ~ inspired and intentional sound, light and energy healing and journeys;

mystery ~ unplanned, unexpected transcendental social, emotional and soul experiences;

playfulness ~ in whatever form that takes ~ inner and outer children welcome!

When we chant it is usually words or sounds with notes and melodies that come from an already established indigenous or tribal culture, spiritual tradition, religious practice, or even from a political or social movement. We will sing familiar chants from these roots at an East Coast Chant gathering. And we’ll also chant or sing things you’ve never heard before like a chant Tonia makes up in the moment or a soul-inspired affirmation you create yourself that Tonia may help mold into a sing-able or chant-able form.
